You should get them to price match to vistek's price for you.

And how do you like the 24p mode on it? Have you used a Canon A1? What made you choose the sony?

Oh, don't worry - I did much better than a price match. :)

Last word was 2 more V1Us left in stock at Henrys. One may go to the demo display case.

If you call, they're happy to hold (and ask for Alan).

P.S. - I'm going to be trying out the 24p mode (and the mysterious new 24A mode) today.

I got my V1U today. I'm in Quebec City, Canada. I would like to know if my unit is affected by the 25p problem of PAL units. Could someone tell me how to do it quickly ?

It's just out of the box and the cam is really gorgeous, so exciting !

Thanks

Shoot the same scene in 24p and 30p and 60i then compare. Confirm the camera settings other than frame rate are the same.

Congrats, exciting!

The comparison should happen on play back, not just watching the footage live outputted to a monitor. I mean, do both if you can, but the playback is the most noticeable, apparently. If you can, import and post stills from each of the same scenes.

How to extract stills from the shots?

Quebec should have 24p like the rest of the country, not 25. Unless you ordered a pal unit?

It's a V1U so a NTSC unit. As said in another thread, no one from Americas had some shots of the 30p nor 60i. So I wanted to compare both to see if my unit is affected by the PAL problem.

The only thing is that I don't have my new computer installed. Well... I'll just try ton install all these things soon but someone will probably post some shots and show the cam don't have any problems, as expected by Douglas Spotted Eagle.

VERY great camera, I'm very happy of the size.

If all goes well I'll have mine before the end of the week. I'm making shooting some test video a high priority.
