Recording formats
I've looked at the Sony spec page regarding this camera and am a bit confused as to exactly what it is capable of recording, format wise.
Does this camera just record 24p and 30p only? What about 60i? Also, it states in their specs it can record DVCam; but can it also record to the regular DV format? (I did try searching the forums regarding this, but I wasn't able to find this info. I seek.) Thanks for any help in clarifying this for me. |

Yes to all:
From Sony Site: Thanks to the 3 ClearVid CMOS Sensor and Enhanced Imaging Processor, the HVR-V1U supports 24p (progressive) scan, the frame rate of film and 30p (progressive) scan modes, in addition to typical 60i. The signals generated by the 3 ClearVid CMOS Sensor are processed in the progressive domain as 1920 x 1080p signals, allowing high-resolution progressive footage to be captured. Also: Tape speed HDV/DV SP Max. 18.812 mm/s with PHDVM-63DM cassette DVCAM Max. 28.218 mm/s with PHDVM-63DM cassette Site here: http://bssc.sel.sony.com/Broadcastan...V1U/index.html

Thanks Chris; guess I should've read the "Overview" section instead of just jumping to the "Specifications" section!!
