Hi There - Does anyone know how to check head hours used on an HDR-FX1 ?

Sadly, the FX1 does not have a hours meter.

Ahh.... not seeing it in the menu, that would explain why, it's not there - :)

It can be checked at a shop with the proper reader, I understand... from a recent poster here.

Yes, just go to your local camcorder repair shop or service center and they can easily read the hours for you. Even with the special remote they have, it's expressed in hexadecimal or binary or some such, so you need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.
