V1U Goes out of focus, makes noise

I'm having a problem with one of my V1U cameras. If I'm at full wide and leave the camera alone for a few minutes I get a weird error. The camera loses focus, becomes blurry, and I hear a motor grinding noise. It's almost as if the camera's autofocus is trying to continue to search for focus and doesn't know it's at the end of the range.

If I turn off the camera and turn it back on the problem is fixed. So far it doesn't happen when i'm using the camera and zooming in on things.

Anybody know what the problem might be? I look inside of the lens and it's free of dust. Any suggestions? I have a mack warranty, so I'll probably send it in for service.
