V1 Data Rate

I thought the V1 had a data rate of 20 or 25 mbps, when I reviewed clips in Vegas they had a average of around 15 and each clip was different. All the audio was the same. I am wondering if this is OK. or if someone could elaborate on this. The clips were avi captured with cineform NEO HDV.

The data rate of HDV is 25mb/s constant.

The data rate is the same for DV.

If you used an intermediate CODEC like Cineform the data rate will be different from straight HDV or DV.
