V1 HDMI audio: compressed or uncompressed?
Just curious. Can anyone with a V1 tell me if the HDMI audio output is compressed or uncompressed? If uncompressed, is it 48,000/16-bit?
I know the video output is uncompressed, not sure about the audio. TIA |

If you are taking the HDMI output live from the camera, then yes, it's uncompressed 48k 16bit stereo and the video is uncompressed 4:2:2 1920x1080. If you're talking about playing an HDV tape and viewing it through the HDMI output, the audio will be uncompressed 48k 16bit, but it will be "decompressed" from the 384k MPEG audio file from the HDV tape. The same is true for the video, it will be uncompressed coming out of the HDMI port, but it is a "decompressed" version of the 1440x1080 HDV 25Mbit MPEG2 compressed video on tape.
