HVR-V1u MODES Play back on HV20
I own Hvr-v1u. I am thinking about purchasing the Hv20 to use as a deck does any one know if it will play back all the sony HVR-V1u MODES 24p, 24a ,30p. I Know it will play the 60i mode

Yes you can use the HV20 or any other HDV camcorder as a deck, regardless of the frame rate you are recording on your V1U.
The V1U always records 60i to tape, which retains full compatibility with all decks and other 1080i HDV camcorders. Even your capture utility doesn't remove pulldown, you're just doing a straight copy of 60i. Pulldown happens afterwards: when you convert to Cineform, or any other intermediate codec. The HV20 does not hinder this process. I shoot 24A footage on my V1U all the time and capture using an HDR-FX7 (which is only 60i). No problem.
