comparison with HVR V1E

Just a quick question, hope someone will give me the benefit of their experience.
SENSOR HVR V1E HDV 1000E
Sensor Type 3 x CMOS 1 x CMOS
Sensor Resolution 1.12 Megapixels 3.2 Megapixels
Sensor Size 1/4 inch 1/2.9 inch

Above are specs for two cameras, the HVR V1E I already own and I've been offered the HDV 1000E, would anyone be able to tell me in simple terms what the variable sensor specs would mean for trying to maintain consistent footage if I'm mixing footage from each camera on the same timeline.

I can't answer your question, but if you don't take that HD1000 can I have it? :-P
