Sony HVR-HD 1000u won't show up in softwares
I have FCP, Imovie, And Adobe Premier and still i can't find my camera in any of these programs. I used to find my camera when i had OSX 10.4.11. unfortunately after my upgrade to snow leopard i can't find my camera any longer. When i go into the system profiler... I see it in my firewire connection... However when in my softwares, i can't find it. All i get is my isight. Please... Help. All my softwares are up to date... including quicktime. what could be the problem?... I even bought new cables... I can't sleep at night cuz my footage seems to be piling up while i try to figure out what my camera needs in order to be recognized by the softwares.

OMG i think i figured it out. It is the camera. I tried to put in on Video Tape Recorder mode by selecting HD since i shoot in HD sometimes. And then i think i played with a setting called calibration... i can't even remember how i got to it. but after it told me to hit the "X" which appeared on the LCD a couple of times, My Imovie recognized the camera. I think it had something to do with calibration tho.
