Down converting

Hi there

A friend of mine is thinking of getting a Sony HC 5 or 7...The question is does this camera allow one to shoot in HDV and downconvert in camera to SD during acquistion as my Z1 does?

The friend only has basic PC at the moment so can't import and convert the footage in the NLE...

Thanks

Gareth

If it is like the HC1 then the answer is yes - there is an in-camera HDV-->DV conversion option. (I-Link conv, IIRC)
