Firewire and Compression?

If you record directly from the camera to one's hard drive via a firewire to your NLE, bypassing the tape, is the output still compressed?
Or are the analog outs the only way of bypassing compression on the A1U?

Thanks in advance

More like, thank goodness it is still compressed. RAW gets big really quick. I mean REALLY big. You thought 13GB/hr was big ;)
