PAL HD Camera?
I need an experts advice on this please. I'm thinking of buying
a Sony HDR-HC3 PAL camera for the 25P hoping it will give a more "film like" quality. Or should I just get the NTSC if there is not much of a difference in picture quality. Thanks in advance! |

While there are different frame rates offered in HD to more suitably work with existing lighting in different countries, there is no such thing as 'HD PAL'. HD standards have been adopted by the Advanced Television Standards Committee which is multi-national and therefore, HD is the same no matter what continent you live on.
Since European power is delivered at 50hz, the 25P or 50i is a frame rate available in HD to synchronize with lighting powered by 50hz AC. The other difference you would encounter in buying a European version would be the AC adapter that comes with the camera. -gb- |
