Lens Hood For Wide Angle VCL-HG0737Y lens

I have been searching high and low for a lens hood for the Sony VCL-HG0737Y lens. I have not had any luck. Can you guys please point me in the right direction. Can you also please post pics, I would really like to see how the camera looks with the lens hood mounted on the camera.

Thanks in advance,

Jose

By the way, this is an excellent forum!! I bought the Sony HC1 because of the excellent reviews that were posted here. Even though I am a novice, I hope that in the future I can contribute.

it's a 77mm cavision sunshade, the diameter of the lens is 77mm so it should fit perfect.

Thanks Jack. Do you or does anybody else have any pics with this lens hood mounted on the Sony "Y" lens?

You could also get the Cavision 3x3 Matte Box. Here is my Sony HDR-HC1, Sony VCL-HG0737Y wide angle lens, Cavision 3x3 Matte Box with 8mm rod system, and a Beachtek DXA-8 audio adapter.

I have the Cavision LH77 lens hood for my a1u and its kind of rubbery not as hard as I thought. How's the 3x3" matte box shade? Are hard enough to hold up the French Flap?

Thanks

The 3x3 matte box is rubber. It holds the french flap up fine, with no problems.

I still need to buy some 3x3 filters to test out the filter trays. I'm want to get a 3x3 Graduated Natural Density filter (Don't know which to get: ND .6 or ND .9) and a 3x3 Polarizer filter from Tiffen. Anybody know if Tiffens 3x3 filters are any good?

I don't like the LH77 that much (I have it). My complaints: it doesn't hold its shape well (it will often curve so it won't be a rectangle and stay in that curved shape even when you try to bend it back - it takes days for it to flatten out sometimes if you leave something heavy and flat on it), it has a gap between the lens and the shade where the screw presses in, it is only held on by that one screw, and it seems a bit thin to me, it doesn't let you be sure you are 100% parallel when you put the shade on the lens, and the screw scratches up the lens casing if you actually twist it. Plus I think the aspect ratio seems to be 4:3 instead of 16:9?

Cavision LH77 hood + VCL-HG0737X lens: (possible?)

So if I had the Sony VCL-HG0737X, would the same wide angle hood (the Cavision 77 work?

I have no idea how to determine whether they fit.
