Hair pulling episode
Hi all
I have a Sony HVR A1U and I have shot 20 hrs tape. I am now running it into the computer. My problem is that between 40 and 55 mins the tape stops and asks that the tape is re-inserted it gives an error message of C31 23. When I eject the tape the process is very slow it takes 20secs and when I reinsert the tape it still doesnt read the Time code. when I fast forward the tape the TC is not readable, anyone else with similar problems?? anyone with any solutions / advice Hair pulling in progress |

That Sony error code corresponds to this text:
"C 31 23 S reel fault. Load the tape again, and perform operations from the beginning. " I would fast-forward the tape the end then rewind the tape the whole way, and retry capture fro the start. |

Problems with A1U
thanks Stu
Unfortunately it is not so simple: when I eject the cassette and reload it, it still refuses to wind or rewind and when I wind it back on another camera it works then put it back in the A1U and fast forward it the A1U doesnt read the timecode , not good Chris |
