Is the HVR-A1U really $2000?
I was just looking at B&H (my local retailer) where it seems to be $2500 (apparently the standard street price) plus a $500 Sony rebate. Is that accurate?

I can concur that. I ordered my A1U online from B&H for $2499 and I mailed off my $500 rebate this past Friday.

It's accurete. I bought my A1 for $2495 I think from B&H and am waiting on the $500 rebate from Sony. Seems like a good deal, eh?

Yeah, it took a lot longer than others to receive my $500 rebate, but it did arrive in the mail after a little longer than a couple months.

I waited over two months for the rebate, but it finally arrived, in a smaller than standard sized envelope that looked like junk mail, lucky for me I've been looking out for it.
