Changing Mic Level in camera on the A1U
Hi All,
I am playing around with my A1U, and yesterday I received the Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G2, wireless system. I attached the receiver to the camera and also transmitter to the mic, which was about 20 feet away. I set the two units up much like the tutorial from http://dvestore.com/theatre/index.html While I was listening and doing some fine tuning, I was picking up sound, from my pen tapping the table 20 feet away, from the mic. The db level of the mic was set at -20 and -10. I tried to access the Mic Level within the A1U, but for some reason, I was not able to do this. Any of you who can help me with this? Much appreciated. If you go into the on screen menu settings you will find an audio setting with the choice of "manual" or "auto". If memory serves me correctly, you can even set the two XLR channels individually. When audio is set to "manual" you can then adjust the audio level. If it is set to "auto", you cannot adjust levels.

Hi Rob,
Thanks Rob, but for some reason, I am not able to do what you are saying, with regards to the "Mic Level". I enter the Menu, then to Standard Set, then to Mic Level (says Auto, and I can not click on here), I am not able to alter anything in here. I am able to alter the XLR level outputs that you were talking about. Find this very strange. Jarle |

Try looking at "XLR Set" under the "Standard Set" menu. When the XLR adapter is plugged into the hot shoe, I think this becomes the place to activate the audio controls. In XLR Set you can select "manual" and then adjust controls when you are using the adaptor. Just checked the manual for the camera. Seems that's how it works.
