HC1/A1 playback of HVR-Z1 Tapes?
Has anyone tried to playback HVR-Z1 HDV tapes through the HC1/A1? If it works, the HC1 might make a very convenient and affordable "dubbing/transfer" deck. Will it work?
Thanks, Jim |

The manual just mentions that HDV-tapes can't be played on DV devices. It will show up blue I recall. I guess it could but I don't know anyone with a Z1 and until somebody tries it's just a wild guess.

I have played back tapes from the FX1 on the HC1 with no problems and doubbing works a treat with a 4 pin firewire lead between the two, also If you have the FX set to downconvert HDV to DV and the HC1 set to dv you can monitor your footage HDV footage on a standard TV.
