Sports pack for Sony HVR A1-U
Hi everyone
I wonder if the sports pack Sony SPK-DVF3 would be ok for A1 camcorder. Originally, this sports pack was made for a series of camcorders, I used it for DCR900. Help appreciated, as local (Kiev) Sony people have no idea. Thanks Yuri |

Probably have to do some customizing to fit if it's anything like the other sports packs I've dealt with - it's a matter of:
A) will the camera fit? If yes, proceed to B B) can you adapt the camera sled to properly align the camera to the port? This probably isn't a big deal if you're handy, and have access to some basic tools C) do the controls work? I'm not familiar with the specific model you're asking about, but I'm presuming that LANC access is through the miniplug and standard LANC port? If so, the odds are pretty good that the electronics will operate as expected as the LANC protocol is pretty standard for Sony. HTH, it's sort of a guess, from experience with the HCB sport pack and the HC3-9 and SR and CX series (the HCB is too short to fit the A1U and HC1 IIRC) |

The HVR-A1 isn't listed anywhere on the instruction manual. I don't think the camera will fit - the sports-pack looks the wrong shape, probably designed for a small consumer camera.
