Tape skipping
Has anyone ever had this problem and how can it be fixed? Ok I recorded two weddings with two hdr-hc3s. One camera records and plays back perfectly. The other one records but when I try to playback for capture it keeps showing me a blue screen. If I fast forward while in play mode I can see that the camera has recorded the wedding but I can't get it to playback, not even on the good camera. I know the camera needs repair now but any clue on how to get the footage off of the tapes?

cant playback
I recall with commercial equipment when the head alignment got too far out of tolerance that would occur. If there is any way to capture the problematic video ou should do so before sending the camera in.
If you send it in they will put it back to factory spec and no camera will likely be able to play the video, as it was recorded on a head that was out of alignment. I wish you luck, be sure to talk to the camcorder repair depot about this. Last edited by James Harring; October 23rd, 2008 at 05:10 PM. Reason: typos |
