A1 with Z1/FX1/FX7?
Hey guys, anyone used the A1 as a B-Cam alongside a Z1/FX1/FX7?
How does it compare? Is it easey enough to match the footage in the edit? Thanks James |

I use the Sony HC1 (same tech as the A1U) with two FX1s, and that mostly works fine. The white balance can be a little different but usually corrects okay in post, and performance in dim light is marginal so I put the HC1 away for that. And the overall image quality isn't quite as good, so some experience is useful to determine what shots to take with the lesser camera. But it does work and is useful for b-roll shots.

Nice to know my HC1 is so capable. That's why I'm not planning on selling it even though I got my new Canon XH-A1 on the way.
There's even a thread over here on using the XH-A1 with the HC1 (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/canon-xh-...ny-hc1-a1.html) but it does seem like there's quite a bit of strategy and work involved.
