Importing or useage problem? MRC1K, Z1U, FCP7

Having some troubles using this unit.

MRC is working with a Z1U, 32GB 533x ADATA CF card, FCP 7.03, and what I believe to be the latest Sony drivers for the device.

No problems recording, playing back on the camera, or writing CF footage to the computer. Once on the Mac, clips will play fine via VLC or MPEG Streamclip.

FCP log n transfer sees the clips, but can't preview them. It is set to transcode .m2t to ProRes 422LT. Importing the clips never brings in the whole clip, only the first few seconds. Similar results with PR422.

Obviously, this is less than ideal. I could workaround by batch transcoding via MPEG Streamclip, but would like to know if I'm flubbing elsewhere in an egregious manner.
