MRC1K crashes with windows 7!
Hi i am tryig to connect the MRC1K unit to my laptop that uses windows 7. I have updated the driver to the "legacy" version. When i connect the recorder the laptop recognises it but when i try to copy the files or even play the files the MRC1k crashes (the display on the MRC1k unit also freezes). At this point i can't even turn off the recorder. I have to take out the battery. Anyone experienced this before?

I've never even thought to actually connect the unit to any PC. My MRCs are more or less permanently attached to the cams so I just use an external card reader and the Sony-ru Utility to transfer the files to the PC.
Probably not the answer you wanted but worth a try.

I also just use a card reader, haven't had any problems that way with windows 7.
