archiving data from 32GB CF card

A 32 GB CF card contains a lot of data and archiving it poses questions. My thoughts are as follows: 1) it seems to me a dedicated hard drive makes sense. This would be in addition to the media hard drive that supplies the NLE. 2) the work-flow would be to go from the CF card to the archival drive and then to the media drive. The tape is available also as an archival asset. It is useful if you are missing the final two seconds at the end of a take. I do not see how DVD fits in, unless it is Blu-ray, 2-sided, but that is pricey. Any thoughts?
