Firewire to connect the MRC1K to FX1000
Just curious what the pin configuration is to connect the MRC1K to FX1000? Is it 4 pin to 6 pin?
Also wondering if anyone has any specific firewires they recommend/purchased that are made specifically for this application, due to the extremely short length of this cable... thanks |

Bill, yes it is. It would be a really good idea for Sony to include a short cable specifically for this task. We use a velcro cable tie to secure the cable beneath the camera connection to the strap lug above it but the bulk of the "extra" cable is held somewhat inelegantly with a plastic cable tie.
I'll be watching to see if anyone has a short cable solution. |

The cable Sony supplies in the box with the MRC is about 30" when fully extended, but comes with a Velcro strap attached to it to fold up any excess, and there's also a clip on the side of the cradle to help manage that even more.
If you need one that's shorter than the one supplied with the MRC, here's a place that has even shorter ones: FireWire DV Cable, 6pin to 4pin
