HDR-60 v MRC-1 considerations please
Chris
If this is in the wrong place please accept my apologies and move it. I am considering equipping our three z1s with either MRC-1s or HDR-60s. Until I have confidence in the tapeless options, I plan to run the machines independently of the camera and run tapes simultaneously. Could I ask others here for help on these specific questions? 1 I note some discussion about audio drop-outs on the MRC1 when the tapes are changed. Does this happen when the MRC-1 is running independently ? 2 Are the same things evident in the HDR-60 in the same situation? 3 Most of my work is long, continuous recordings of up to about 75 minutes - and I realise that the FAT32 format of the hard disk and the CF cards means that recordings will be made in files of 4Gb in size. I understand that Sony includes software that stitches these files into contiguous files with absolutely no missed frames. Does this software work? Are no frames dropped? |

May I add a supplemental question tagged to the last?
5 Does the stitched file have contiguous time code or does it jump back at the joins? I'm thinking about the implications for using the stitched files in multicam editing setups. |
