MRC1K with a Z5
Anyone know if I can record a scene straight onto the card, but during this process use the slow record function of the Z5 to record any clips onto the miniDV tape that's in the camera.
On my experiments, the slo-mo goes onto the card also meaning I lose continuity in the scene.

I believe (my understanding anyway) that you can only record a duplicate of the action of what is happening onto either the card of the tape - the only choice i believe is to have one in HD and one recording SD.
As what you would be asking would be for the camera to do the work of two cameras, as when using the smooth slow record function, the camera cuts off audio and uses a small internal memory buffer i think to actually record the footage at the faster, albeit lower resolution rate. So I don't think it is capable of recording normally at the same time. Best just to use an NLE in my experience with my Z5 to slow down the footage.
