I am so glad I found this Thread!
I am so glad I found this Thread! I have this Client that is blaming me for some of the clips not being recorded on the CF Card, but it is being recorded on tape. They are giving me crap for it and this helps a lot for my case having issues with the CF Card! I am in a run and gun environment, when I power up, I need to start recording ASAP and the CF Card fails on me and does not record, but the tape does. This explains it, Thank you!

Chad, it's not something I need to use (and you've not specified which camera you're using your MRC-1 on) but can't the MRC-1 be set to record to cache from the moment you start it?
I guess I come from the same tape tradition as you and felt reluctant to trust my commercial life and reputation to a solid piece of plastic in a metal casing rather than several hundred feet of thin plastic.in a loose roll. Get over that (and I don't minimise the leap) and you'll be surprised how pleasant the new environment is to work in. |
