Colourspace of the PDW-F350
Hi to all of You!
I am afraid that the PDW-F350 will not give me enough colour precision. The last ten years I used an Ikegami camera head and I know exactly how a good picture must be. In my opinion, the 4:2:0 colourspace is too small - or the camera head is simply not good enough. I will do some more trial recordings next week, but the material seen so far causes serios doubts. Also the use of the gain in bad lighting conditions causes too much noise and this overloads the codec. What do You think about that? Matthias |

This isn't my area and I'll ask Paolo to more fully respond but that being said, we keyed some exceedingly demanding shots with the 350 for El Papel's pilot after assuring that they could be done and had zero issues with the camera.
As I said, I'll ask Paolo for his camera settings but we had zero problems with the colorspace and, if we did, we'd have simply gotten a camera that did the job. Now, don't get me wrong, there are still some things on the Christmas Wish List for the 350 but colorspace certainly, from our experience, isn't one of them.
