MainConcept plug-in
The MainConcept plug-in is not the greatest, but the 2.0.1 version at least works. 2.0.0 was really horrendous. Probably one more update and it will be tolerable. It also promises things it doesn't yet deliver, like presets for Bu-ray and HD DVD output.
There's a great manual you can download, don't have time to pull the link right now but it can be scared up on the MainConcept site. It not only tells much about the program but is practically a post-graduate course in MPEG and related codecs and all their variables and permutations. Worth a look whether you buy the plug-in or not. And for not much more than this plug-in costs you can buy Vegas, which seems to handle 35 Mb/s ingest from XDCAM HD better than Premiere with MainConcept does. The Vegas MPEG codec is created by guess who, of course MainConcept. But anyway, buying Vegas would be an alternative to consider. Tip |

Problem is i use Blackmagic Decklink board and like to use the output for monitoring.
I will give MainConcept a try and see if i can import XDCAM HD file in a BM project. |

Hi Toni,
I have the same setup (PP 2.0 and Decklink), and tried Main Concept. Doesn't work. Look at they answer: Dear Mr Becker, we know about the memory issues and we are working on a solution. The problem is that we don´t know what cause this memory issues and we are not sure if our plugin or if Premiere will have this problem. We will still investigate this problem and we try to solve it as soon as possible. Maybe after NAB we gona see a solution for Premiere and XDCam. |
