Native XDCAM HD Clips
I'm looking for a few Native XDCAM HD Clips to test with various editing apps.
Edius and Matrox Axio now claim native file support but no mention of how many layers would be supported in RT. I'd like to try 35mb/s clips.... a few 10 second clips would help me test with multiple layers, CC correction and other settings. Eduis includes it's own HD "HQ codec" and can play out a good 4 or 5 layers of HDV in realtime using it, while native hdv playback is barely 2 layers at best. If anyone knows of any links to native files or can post some... thanks would be great! Thanks |

There are 3 sample clips available on my server. Each is 10 seconds long there is a 35, 25 and 18Mb clip all wrapped up in a zip file. These are 50i clips.

Thanks Alister,
I'm not sure if I have 50i presets in my Editor but I'll give them a try! I guess I should have asked for specific file types. < NTSC > I guess I would be using mostly 60i and 24p in my work. Thanks again! |

Brian, here's a 35mbit 24p clip:
http://homepage.mac.com/nweaver/.Public/C0020.MXF.zip Keep in mind some of the NLEs aren't really setup to import just an MXF file. With FCP for instance, the XDCAM Transfer app will see the MXF if pointed to the right place, but it gets confused because none of the other XML files nor the directory structure of an XDCAM disc are there for it to see. Make sense? Chances are you can make something work though. Also, please tell me when you have it downloaded, so I can pull it down. I have bandwidth issues on my .Mac account.

Link removed to save my acct from bandwidth overage. If you'd like the file, post here or contact via DVInfo message and I'll make it available again.
