Sony PDW-F335 to FCPX
Hello all,
I have been hired by a local company to shoot a project using a Sony PDW F335 XDCAM Camera. I will be recording on the 50GB DL Discs. I am new to XDCAM, so let me apologize for my ignorance first off. My question is this; How can I import/ingest the clips into FCPX for editing? Is it possible to do this right from the camera using Firewire? I will be recording in 1080i and 59.94. I will be editing on a 2015 Macbook Pro (so I would assume I need a thunderbolt to firewire jumper)? I have done some browsing around on the internet and found a software (from the Sony site) called XDCAM browser. I don't know if this will help or not? Can anyone walk me through the process of importing. THANK YOU!! |

Re: Sony PDW-F335 to FCPX
You will need to get the FAM drivers. You may also need to get a firewire 800 to firewire 400 (6 pin) adaptor. Things were a little finicky when those cameras came out.
I think you may also need to get the Apple pro codec pack or something along those lines, I may be incorrect on that. Good luck!
