risks of buying a grey import lens
Hi all
I am looking at a Canon HJ14 lens for my pdw-700. DigiBroadcast are selling them for £10,500 plus tax - but they are coming in from Japan - considerably cheaper than other retailers here, What are the issues with buying a lens from Japan, as opposed to one from Europe - I think it still comes with a one year warranty. Cheers, Sparky |

Re: risks of buying a grey import lens
Hi Mark
Did you ever buy this lens as a grey import, I am considering the same and are wondering what the issues might be. Also if you did get the lens are you happy with it, I want to use one on a PDW 700 and am wondering if it exhibits much in the way of chromatic aberrations. I have found a lot of lenses show this with the 700. thanks in advance |

Re: risks of buying a grey import lens
Go back to your local dealer with the price that you can get it from overseas. Give them the opportunity to match the price. Quite often I have found that this works.
