XDCAM Transfer on Mac
Hi,
up to now you had to install FCP for HiRes Viewing/XDCAM Transfer Tool. Is that still the case? Is there nowadays a way to run XDCAM Transfer + PDW700 (or so) without having FCP installed? Thanks ULI |

I noticed there is a checkbox in XDCAM Transfer's preferences labeled something like 'Import clips with no codec', so presumably you can still use the Transfer tool to re-wrap to mov without FCP.

No codec or use XD decode
Hi there - the previous poster is correct - you can use the 'no codec' option but you can also buy the XD decode codec from Calibrated Software, which lets you preview your clips without having to have FCP installed.
