XDCAM Deck output
Does any of the XDCAM decks output realtime video from Premiere Pro and after effects similar to the DV tape decks?

Do you mean can they record live from Premiere or AE?
The U1 doesn't allow this - it's only a USB transfer device. I think the other (more expensive) decks allow recording in this way though. |

PDW-1500, PDW-V1, PDW-F70, PDW-F75 can output a DV stream through the firewire port. On the PDW-F70/F75, that is one way to get a downconverted output when playing a XDCAM HD disc. Note that the firewire port on these machines can operate in two different modes, FAM (File Access Mode) for files transfers and AV/C for DV25 streaming. You would want to make sure the i.Link mode on the deck is properly set to AV/C mode in order to capture the DV stream out of the deck.
