XDCAM disc capacity
Single layer XDCAM discs can contain 23Gb, but when I transfer full recorded disc (HD 35mb/s) in a folder onto computer, that folder show only 18-19 Gb of mxf files. I know that 500MB is reserved for project files, audio etc. but where is the remaining cca 2Gb?

Proxy files. When you copy a clip over a low resolution MPEG4 thumbnail clip is also created.
Then I think there is also some space reserved for error correction stuff. Others may know more detail. |

500Mb is reserved for user data and files such as EDL's etc, plus as Simon says Proxies etc.
