Update on PDW-U1?

Anyone heard anything recently about the U1 write firmware?

I asked our Sony rep about this last week. He said it is expected by the end of June. Problem is he emphasized "expected". I think we longtime Sony clients know what that means. I'm sure that's what he's been told but even he doesn't necessarily believe it. What's worse is that he told me that's only for PC based systems (we're a Mac shop) and that Mac systems won't see the update until fall at best.

I love Sony gear, but as my salesman taught me long ago, the definition of SONY: Soon, Only Not Yet.

Yeah, I'm not bashing Sony here. 98% of our experience with their products and people is great. It's just that like any huge corporation, sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Be careful guys...DVINFO has pretty strict guidelines about bashing companies or people, regardless of who they are.

I understand the frustration, but posting barbs here won't solve anything.

So nearly the end of June which was one rumour of a release date - support still haven't heard anything. Anyone got any info on how they're going?
