XDCAM HD / Vegas 8 / partial FAM
Though release of Vegas 8 clearly states "partial clip import in FAM Mode" (and YES, there´s an option to click in the "consolidate window" I cant bring Vegas + F330 to import partial clips...
Any idea? Anyone working with Vegas 8? Thanks ULi |

I take it that you are conforming proxy footage to the full resolution files?
Which version of Vegas 8 are you using (have you downloaded the latest update?) Can you describe to me in detail your workflow? |

Hi Simon,
well , I guess its the first V8 release (I can try with latest release next week): I import the proxies via XDCAM explorer within vegas. Edit proxies (e.g. trim them), go to xdcam explorer -> conform files ->windows open "please insert XDCAM disc #" ->select "partial FAM for regions if possible" ->GO I also trimmed some clips within the cams Edit List and tried to place those proxies into the timeline (hoping I could import a small portion via this way), but no luck. Hi Simon,
I just updated V8 to build 179: Just had a try with a short region out of a 1.5GB clip - and it works perfectly with V8 179 (importing just ~100mb). Vegas captures the region(s) only and offers a 2s spare area at the beginning/end of the clips. Interestingly also Vegas 7 offers the "partial FAM" option - but always imports the whole 1.5gb. BTW : the cam is AT 1.52 Package 1.60 Kind regards ULI |
