Suggestions for shooting 24p

I am involved in shooting feature film that will be shot on the red camera. Because of time considerations and lack of a red camera yet, we will be shooting some establishing shots with the 350. I would appreciate any comments/ suggestions for shooting 24p. Any pitfalls of common newbie mistakes to avoid.

Thanks

Pans and tilts should go slower than you're used to, to avoid jitter.

If you've not shot HD before, focus is extra critical.

Other than that... a lot stays the same. Good luck getting the 350 to match the Red camera. The first 50 shipped on Friday. Hope yours comes in soon. :-)

Shooting in 24P requires very, very slow panning, and zooming techniques, a snails pace. There are specs for shooting via film with this in mind. Do a Google search for this. Post production can also present challenges when mixing frame rates as well. Make sure the camera is set for 1/48 shutter as well!!! it default 's to 30th and if you use this, all motion will be blurred, UGLY!

What would you suggest shutter speed when over cranking? is there a formula?
