Canon xl lens on NEX GV20
Hi
Tossing around the idea of picking up an NEX20 and need to know if lenses from my Canon XL2 will work with it - in particular the 14X manual. Thanks KF |

Re: Canon xl lens on NEX GV20
Should work if there's adaptors for it. I think they're are,, something like this https://www.amazon.com/EzFoto-NEX-VG10-NEX-VG20camera-adapter-aperture/dp/B006JSN94Q/dvinfo09-20
I'm not familiar with Canons, but whatever mount Canon has, just search to Sony E-Mount. You might lose in camera adjustment functions like aperture. |

Re: Canon xl lens on NEX GV20
I don't believe it will work. The Canon XL series had a lens mount specific to that series. The only adapter I am aware of was an adapter for those cameras that allowed them to go from XL mount to standard Canon mount (E mount, I think).
Without electronic funktion a XL lens will will be useless on any camera. Kind Regards, Steve

Re: Canon xl lens on NEX GV20
That is what I was afraid of. The 14x full manual lens would be great, however, the mount seems to be an issue. It would need to be an " XL to E" mount no?

Re: Canon xl lens on NEX GV20
Not going to happen because the 1/3” Canon zoom lens won’t cover the APS size Sony sensor.

Re: Canon xl lens on NEX GV20
Wrong mount.
Wrong sensor coverage. No, just no.
