Re: a7iii
I understand. So am I. But, the a7iii looks really good for only $2000, even in low light. It just lacks 10 bit 422 internal and 4k 60p for some slo mo. Other forums are talking a lot among many people and I wonder why there can't be any discussion going on in DVinfo. $2000 leaves at least $1000 for lenses over a new a7siii. I bet the new a7siii will be at least $3200.

Re: a7iii
They advertise an HDR capable video workflow while this camera is only 8 bit, that, in my opinion, is ludicrous and questions their credibility.

Re: a7iii
Sony advertise HLG etc on the AX700, NX80 and Z90 and in UHD they are all 8 bit too. At least Panasonic have HLG on the GH5 to 10bit so in camera it is only 30P.

Re: a7iii
I may need to consider these this year. I kept holding out hope for that epic hybrid DSLR/Camcorder mix, but seems they're solid on sticking with the DSLR body form factor.
Currently have a VG900 (dinosaur) and last year purchased to test out a a7 for stills, love it. I do have an X70 for camcorder needed shoots, but I'll likely sell off the two bodies & go with either an a7iii or a7siii. |
