A7s Object Focus Tracking
Has anyone figured this out?
I've found an article here by Gary Fong but it doesn't translate for video - seems to be just for stills Configure your Sony Mirrorless camera for autofocus object tracking | Gary Fong Photography Tutorials You can set the focus mode to 'Lock On AF' which works for stills but seems not to work for video? Re: A7s Object Focus Tracking
For A7s Video
By closing the Aperture (increasing the f-stop number) you can increase the DOF. This makes tracking a moving object easier. You can also raise the shutter speed. |

Re: A7s Object Focus Tracking
Thanks - I get that Roger but what I want is proper object tracking - something my EA50 does and my Sony CX Handycams - If you look at the Gary Fong video it seems possible with the A7 but maybe just for stills and not while filming.

Re: A7s Object Focus Tracking
My GH4 is much better at FullTime AutoFocus and Tracking.
Afraid we will have to wait for the next version on the A7s. The A7II and especially the A7R II are supposed to be much improved. In the mean time the A7s is "good enough" for my work and far better in poor low light. |
