Alex and Lauren's Outdoor Farmstead Wedding featuring a7s footage
Here is a wedding we shot on a farmstead near Mt. Rainier. It was shot on two C100s and 1 a7s. I'm getting closer to matching the two cameras although the a7s struggles in weird lighting. Doesn't help that the a7s is a pain to white balance. I used it exclusively at the groom's prep and throughout the day. I really like the high ISO capabilities as I was able to shoot some slow motion footage at night where I otherwise wouldn't have been able to with other cams.
I used Kholi's PP7 profile for all footage except the end with the sparklers where I used PP6. |

Re: Alex and Lauren's Outdoor Farmstead Wedding featuring a7s footage
Very slick and nicely edited but is it only me or is everyone's video (sorry "film") starting to look remarkably similar ?? The trend seems to be having what I consider washed out saturation rather than deep rich colours and all shots are now becoming remarkably similar especially with camera movements that watching a trailer/highlight now one almost knows what's coming up next.
Besides that very well done and the brides will undoubtably love it! Chris |

Re: Alex and Lauren's Outdoor Farmstead Wedding featuring a7s footage
HI Chris,
It seems to me that it is something to do with shooting with flat profiles. It's something I tussled with when shooting in Cinestyle PS. You look at that flat, unsatured footage, add a little contrast and colour and your eyes think it's almost too much, when in truth it's still quite flat. The way round it, for me at any rate, was to discipline myself to use and trust video scopes for CC and not look at the monitor window. I'm just going to put my parachute on in case I get shot down in flames........................... Dave |
