AX53 & Tascam FR-AV2
I want to use a Tascam AV2 with the Sony AX53. I would like to output the audio camera/line out from the tascam to the Sony AX53 mic. This would be so the audio can be matched up to the better recording later on.
My question is will the Sony AX53 plugin power mic input prove to be a problem? There is no option to turn it off. Would I need some kind of adaptor cable? Would connecting the camera/line out to the camera mic input damage the tascam? it looks like the connector tip and ring of the 3.5mm trs connector have 2.35v on them. Any thoughts would be appreciated, and thank you for your time. |

Hi Mark. The audio level of a line out is too high to send to a mic input, it will distort. You need something like this … https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/999455-REG/rapcohorizon_ltiglblox_blox_series_laptop.html/overview/BI/2855/KBID/3801
You can chat with an expert there to confirm what you need. He’ll want to know what model cameras and audio connections you have and probably how far apart the cameras will be situated, have all that ready. Good luck. Cheers.

Hi Mark, a week later how are you going, any luck? Or are you heading in another direction?
Cheers.
