PXW-X70, Shotgun Mic Too Loose.
I have a PXW-x70 as well as an Azden 250cx shotgun microphone. Problem is it is loose in the shotgun mic holder, falls right out.
I bought a microphone spacer of the sony parts store, and while it fits nicely over the microphone, it is still too lose in the in holder with it clamped down. This one : https://www.servicesplus.sel.sony.co...17988201.aspx# I have some upcoming shoots where I am going to need to fix this, but I'm finding very little info on how I can do so. SOS. Would love your thoughts! Thank you! |

I think the 250 CX is around the same diameter as my Rode NTG 1.
I just use a couple of wraps of thick elastic tape. Kind of down and dirty, but it's worked fine for years.

I've used old computer Mouse mats. The Neoprene foam type ones. Find a black one and just cut a strip to suit. Has anti vibration properties and ensures a decent fit. Works a treat.

1” rubber tubing from a hardware store. About $1/foot. Cut to length then splice once the long ways to allow the mic to slip in.

Search ebay for ‘rubber tube insert sony.” Less than $3.00.
