AX100 vs AX700 Noise
I have noticed that the video noise level on the AX700 seems to be greater than the AX100. I am currently using Doug Jensen's picture profile (from his video course).
Is it expected that the AX700 would be slightly noisier due to the stacked sensors? Many thanks |

Re: AX100 vs AX700 Noise
Spent the last few days trying out many combinations of picture profiles and settings based on Paul & Doug's settings as starting points.
Finally settled on the one I like best which is: ITU709 Gamma & Pro Colour Current settings: Black level -6 Gamma ITU709 BLk Gamma High/+7 Knee Auto 100% Middle Colour Mode Pro Sat +5 Detail 0 It is close to the no picture profile default. I found Doug's profile a bit too bright and Paul's too saturated on the green especially in bright sunlight. I like to use auto exposure and the above profile works well in auto. |

Andy, kudos to you for taking the time to experiment with other people's suggestions and then using those as a jumping off point to create what looks best to YOU. More people should do exactly what you have done.

Many thanks Doug, I really liked your course on the Sony cameras, very professional and explained the technical side so it made sense and understandable to the non-professional.
Best wishes, Andy. |
