Sony Z90 Monitoring
Hey Guys, I’m new here and would appreciate some advice on a specific situation with my Sony Z90.
So, I want to monitor externally on an iPad Pro whilst someone else is operating the camera however when it is connected to the app, both the Viewfinder and Screen cease to function. Does anyone know a workaround to this so that it can be monitored on the camera and iPad simultaneously? Cheers, Tian |

Re: Sony Z90 Monitoring
Sorry, that can't be done.
The workaround is to run a SDI or HDMI cable to a monitor or 3rd part device that transmits video.

Thanks for your speedy reply.. that’s a shame, kind of makes the smartphone app a bit pointless 😏.

Re: Sony Z90 Monitoring
I agree. That's why I don't even waste any time showing how to set it up in my training video.

I'm trying to remember if you wifi stream through VLC player if you can still adjust all the controls.
I think you can. But won't put money on it.

Re: Sony Z90 Monitoring
If recording 4K, you can't output to the LCD and external HDMI/SDI device at the same time. Looking forward to a Z90 successor. Maybe at NAB?

Re: Sony Z90 Monitoring
Donald, you're a dead set legend! Thanks so much... whilst your video didn't exactly solve my scenario it did inspire me to try a couple of different things. As it turns out, I was inputting my computer's ip. address when it should have been my network ip.. so now, it is streaming, albeit with a decent 3 to 4 second latency which i don't think there is anything i can do about that but i'm just happy it's working!
Thanks again! T |

Re: Sony Z90 Monitoring
Glad I could help. My next problem is the audio lag to YouTube.
