PXW-X70 live streaming quality
This clip is representative of the highest quality I get from an X70 live stream set to 640x360. It is always blocky, always has the weird rolling macroblocking waves, and the audio is typically very good. This is using a very high speed broadband connection, so you are not seeing the results of a low bitrate connection. I was told by my TOC not to pan around, as this typically will cause stuttering freezes of the picture if you move too much.
This is one of the key reasons I use Sony cameras...the ability to go live without additional gear, if I really need to. |

This would be WiFi on an LTE Advanced 4G connection.

Re: PXW-X70 live streaming quality
Just curious, do you work for the news station (payroll), or are you a stringer/freelancer of sorts.
Pretty nice quality, impressive setup for such a DIY rig. |

Re: PXW-X70 live streaming quality
I was a stringer in San Diego and Los Angeles from 1991-2013, then got sucked into working for 10News as an "MMJ". The picture and biutrate improves at 1280x720, but my station is ABC, so we shoot 720p60, which won't allow 720 MPEG-TS, only 360p.
