X70 firmware v3.0 at DVinfo.net

Is it OK to update to v3.0 if I do not have the 4K upgrade, seems like I read once read that it did require the update. I can't find a direct answer and just wanted to be sure before I updated my two X70's.

Yes, you can update this Vers. 3 but keep in mind a lot of people bricked there X70! I have the UHD Update but didn't update the Vers.3 for the moment.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that was correct but wanted to be sure. The bricking issue is the reason I have not thought much about updating until now.
