Slow Motion question
Hi all,
The X70 can shoot 1080 50p @ 50fps in S@Q mode (XAVC L 50mbps) If I put the clip in a 25p timeline, how the clip works? Will it be 100fps smooth slow motion without judder? Rajiv |

Re: Slow Motion question
This is for FCPX, I would assume AVID & Premiere are the same, but don't know for sure...........
The fastest frame rate the PAL X70 can shoot is 50fps - it will never be 100fps. Dependant on your situation, I would suggest not to bother with the S&Q modes & just shoot at 50fps all the time. If you put the footage into a 25p timeline, it will play at normal speed, however you can slow it down in the timeline to 50% and it will still appear to be smooth - any slower than 50% & you will begin to see juddering. If you really want the absolute slowest slow-mo possible out of the X70 without judder, you could set the camera to film in NTSC 60p & then drop it onto a 24p timeline - that will give you a smooth 40% slow-mo. Hope that helps!! |
