Hoocap instead of lens hood.

Very interesting. I have a Sony AX100. From your note above am I right in thinking I would need a 62 to 72 converter and the 72mm hoopcap? No problem at wide angle end with vignetting?

Yes. The thread on the Hoocap is 72mm the X70 is 62mm.

Thanks just ordered a hoopcap and adapter. All the hoopcaps seem to be the same dimensions except for the filter size.

Amazon has 67mm Hoocaps for sale and they even have a video of a guy putting it on his AX100. I ordered it and a 62-67 stepup and 67mm UV filter. Sure will be glad to get rid of that lens cap that takes a lot of fiddling to get in on right.
